‘The Roaring Funnies’ Whodunit Mystery Dinner Show
to Benefit Kenilworth’s Historic Nitschke House

An evening of suspense, humor and fun is in store for those who attend “The Roaring Funnies” whodunit mystery dinner show to be hosted by the Kenilworth Historical Society on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Kenilworth Veterans Center, 33 South 21 Street. Set in a roaring 1920s Prohibition-era speakeasy, the show will feature “Sharkie” and other shady characters portrayed by the acclaimed Riddlesbrood Touring Theater Company of Stratford, N.J., joined by some of “Kenilworth’s own” officials and residents to give the show a local twist.
The fun-filled evening will begin with a three-course Italian pasta dinner to be enjoyed as the exciting whodunit plot unfolds and two bumbling gangs “duke it out” for control of the bootleg business. To enhance the ambience, anyone wishing to come to the event dressed in 1920s-style attire is encouraged to do so. A 50/50 raffle and gift auction also will take place during the evening.
Admission to the mystery dinner show is $50. Advance reservations (by November 1) are requested. The seating plan accommodates eight to ten people per table. Early reservations are encouraged to ensure availability and avoid disappointment. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kenilworth Historical Society’s Oswald J. Nitschke House (c. 1880) “living history” museum and cultural arts center by helping defray operating expenses, including the cost of an elevator that makes all levels of the restored site fully accessible to everyone.
The Riddlesbrood Touring Theater Company travels throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Maryland entertaining audiences with a broad repertoire of murder mysteries, comedy shows and game shows. From its beginnings nearly 20 years ago, the professional traveling theatre ensemble has produced more than 1,500 shows for private parties, corporate functions, fundraisers and various other events.
The Kenilworth Historical Society is an independent, volunteer-based, non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the research, preservation and interpretation of the historic Oswald J. Nitschke House (c. 1880), local history and culture.
