The College Women’s Club of Cranford Meeting

Armchair Art Tour of Early Picasso

The College Women’s Club of Cranford will be holding its first meeting of the New Year on Monday, February 11, 2019.

Our guest speaker will be Michael Norris PH.D. A former educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dr. Norris has spent the past twenty years at the Cloisters Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has lectured on trips all over the world. His knowledge is extensive in Classical and Medieval Art. We are excited that Dr. Norris will again be sharing his vast knowledge of Art with us.

He will be presenting Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881-1973) a prodigy in art, from childhood to the advanced age of 91. See Picasso’s changing world through his pictures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, from his teenage years through the decade of his twenties including his Blue and Rose periods, and his early experimentation with Cubism.

The meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 11 Springfield Avenue, Cranford. It will begin at 7 p.m. with refreshments followed by our guest speaker. The meeting is open to the public.

All Cranford women, who are graduates of a four year college or university, are invited to join the club. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
