CHATHAM RESIDENTS WILL RUN “VIRTUALLY” FOR THEIR TURKEY AT THE 12TH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DAY CHATHAM TURKEY TROT
Event Will Benefit First Responders and Diabetes Research and Education
WHAT: As a kick-off to the Holiday Season The Chatham Turkey Trot will host its 12th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot virtually this year as there will be no physical race. Curt Ritter, President and Founder of The Chatham Turkey Trot, said, “The health and safety of our participants was a top priority as we prepared for the 12th Annual Chatham Turkey Trot. Given the ongoing safety and health-related issues surrounding COVID-19, we have decided to cancel the physical race and offer a virtual version of the Turkey Trot this year.
“We made this decision with the utmost caution and the safety of everyone involved in the race. Despite the race being virtual, participants will still receive a gift bag and official T-shirt and are encouraged to “race” with their families at their respective locations.
“Funds raised will continue to benefit the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department, the Diabetes Research Institute, the Chatham Emergency Squad, and The Barton Center for Diabetes Education. We are pleased that since 2009, The Chatham Turkey Trot has raised more than $180,000 to support these organizations. Individuals interested in participating or donating can visit our website (www.TheChathamTurkeyTrot.org) to learn more. We look forward to seeing everyone in-person in 2021.”
