Union Elementary Volleyball Game to Support Valerie Fund

The staff of Battle Hill, Connecticut Farms, Hannah Caldwell and Washington Elementary Schools held a volleyball tournament on Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Union High School main gymnasium. This friendly competition raised $3,469 for a great cause, The Valerie Fund.

The Valerie Fund, named in honor of Valerie Goldstein, a cancer patient who lost her life at the age of 9, helps to provide individualized care to children at medical centers close to home. Their aim is to help heal and comfort the children in their care by treating them emotionally, socially and developmentally, as well as medically.

Although Battle Hill Elementary School took home the prized trophy, the true winners were all of the students, parents, faculty and staff of all four schools who came together to support this amazing organization. The schools were all so proud and honored to participate in this wonderful philanthropic endeavor. It truly was a wonderful night!
