As part of the Read Across America initiative, Tamaques students read over 150,000 minutes, raising more than $10,000 in the elementary school’s 2017 Reading Marathon. The funds will go towards enhancing the school library, towards local charities such as Imagine, and to support a Tamaques 5th grade Girl Scout Troop’s project to benefit Children’s Specialized Hospital. Tamaques PTO volunteers Barb Wellnitz, Jennifer Carbone, Jacie Jacobowitz and Cara Lerner chaired the event.
