Summit Scout BSA Troop 67 Open House

Boy Scout Troop 67 is hosting an Open House for prospective Boy Scouts and their parents on March 4th at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held  at St. Teresa’s School, Avila Room 306 Morris Ave, Summit.

Attendees will  get a glimpse into some of the troop activities from fun-packed outdoor treks to organizing various community service projects  and learning important leadership skills. No prior Scouting experience is required.

The troop has boys between the ages of 11-17. Trek activities include white water rafting, snow skiing, ice climbing, backpacking, cooking campout and a lot of other outdoor fun adventures.  The Troop has been sponsored by St. Teresa of Avila Parish since 1933, and has helped more than 100 boys earn the rank of Eagle Scout — Scouting’s highest honor.

Boy Scouting is designed to offer a unique program for today’s young men that complements sports and extracurricular activities. Through an emphasis on outdoor skills and boy-led activities, boys learn life skills in a supportive environment, grow  self-confidence, and develop a life-long love of the outdoors. The aim is to build character, train tomorrow’s leaders in the responsibilities of participative citizenship, and develop personal fitness.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Boy Scouts (BSA) is encouraged to attend.
