Repair Café Event: Free Repairs by Experts, September 21st
After two successful events under their belt, Repair Café returns to help the public restore their beloved broken items to working order, while keeping them out of our landfills. Skilled volunteers with years of experience are available to repair items ranging from blenders to kitchen chairs, from bicycle tires to ripped shirts, and almost everything in between.
Volunteer organization Green Summit announces their third Repair Café, established and coordinated by member Courtney Cordaro. Repair Café is co-sponsored with the Summit Area Green Faith Circle. The event will be hosted on September 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church, 561 Springfield Avenue, in Summit. Christ Church is located at the corner of Springfield and New England Avenues. Please enter the event from New England Avenue.
Green Summit invites the public to bring a beloved but broken item to be repaired for free by experts who are also your neighbors. Repair services available at this event will include sewing/textiles, wood/furniture, plants/gardening, bicycles, jewelry, electronics, and knives/blades (with a limit of one blade [up to 6”] per household). This is a free event but please note that a voluntary contribution is appreciated when an item is brought for repair. Please only bring items that you can carry into our event unaided.
