Summit Resident Brian M. Schwartz, Esq. Receives Lifetime Achievement Award From NJ State Bar

Brian M. Schwartz was presented the Saul Tischler Award for Lifetime Achievement from the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section during an event held on April 19th at the Ryland Inn of Whitehouse Station.
A lawyer who has dedicated his career to family law, he is the youngest ever to receive this prestigious award. The lifetime achievement award recognizes his contributions to advancing the development of family law and the profession, his service to the legal community, and his dedication to family law issues through teaching and advocacy.
Since becoming a member of the bar in 1993, Schwartz has been a rising star. He has been a member of the prestigious Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey Family Law Section, and became Chair of the Family Law Section in 2013. During his term, he led a team which negotiated the terms of the new alimony law, and lobbied for its ultimate passage in September 2014. In addition to authoring numerous articles for the New Jersey Family Lawyer, the nationally recognized publication of the Family Law Section and numerous other publications, he also served as the Executive Editor of the New Jersey Family Lawyer.
A frequent lecturer at industry events, he has presented at more than 100 programs to educate members of the bar in the practice of matrimonial law. Schwartz was the moderator at the Family Law Symposium in 2014, one of the most widely attended programs offered by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. In 2011, Schwartz was invited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to be a faculty member in its inaugural Expert Witness Skill Workshop in Washington, D.C. Since then he has participated five additional times at their events across the country. Schwartz had been the moderator for New Jersey Association for Justice at its Boardwalk Convention multiple times.
In addition to teaching, Schwartz has also provided expert commentary for media including The Wall Street Journal, American Lawyer and the nationally syndicated radio program Viewpoints. He has been named a Best Lawyer in America since 2011 and a Super Lawyer since 2007; his firm has been designated as a Tier 1 Law Firm, the highest ranking, since 2012.
