Summit Police Officers Resuscitate Choking Baby
On Sunday, July 5, 2020, Summit Police Officers responded to a report of an infant that was unable to breathe. Upon arrival, officers were met by the mother holding the infant at the curb. The child was turning blue and unable to cry or breathe. The responding officer took the child from the mother, and immediately began to administer back blows and chest thrusts to dislodge the material, which was loosened and the infant was able to breathe again. The baby was transported to a local hospital for observation and made a full recovery.
