Sailing Team Competes at Icebreaker Regatta

The Spring sailing season is underway! On a blustery, chilly day for the NJISA Icebreaker Regatta at Toms River Yacht Club, our SHS Sailors competed in a total of 12 races in a field of 18 boats from across NJ and Pennsylvania. Overall, Our Summit 1 boat of Lauren Murray, Grace Penque, Michael Creel, and Elena Carranza finished in a strong 8th place and our Summit 2 boat of Emma Gumny, Elodie Hellmuth, Brynn Penque and Charlotte Leck finished in 14th. On the day, our SHS Sailors delivered five top-6 finishes with Lauren and Grace grabbing two 4th place finishes, Michael and Elena taking a 5th and a 6th place finish, and Brynn and Charlotte securing a 5th place finish.
