2021 Arbor Day Celebration
The 2021 Arbor Day celebration will take place on Friday, April 23 beginning at 12PM in front of Summit High School, located at 125 Kent Place Boulevard. To comply with COVID-19 regulations, members of the public will not be invited to attend, and the outdoor gathering limit will be 25 persons. In the
event of inclement weather, the celebration will be postponed to a later date.
Members of the Shade Tree Advisory Committee will be in attendance to celebrate the City of Summit’s 25th year as a Tree City USA. Summit Mayor Nora Radest will read an Arbor Day proclamation, and City Forester John Linson will give a presentation on the history of Arbor Day in the United States, the importance of preserving trees in our community, and the value trees have in our everyday lives. Assistant Superintendent Lou Pepe, Summit High School Principal Stacy Grimaldi, and Director of Facilities Angelo Palumbo will also be in attendance.
