The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) under the leadership of 8th grade teacher Ms. Nancy Pakulski from St. Theresa School in Kenilworth participated in the annual Toys for Tots program hosted by the Kenilworth Fire Department.
The Honor Society held a free will tag day where students gave a donation to wear their own clothes. They raised over $800 in which the money was divided into three categories: toddlers, girls, and boys. The Honor Society went to Target on Route 22 to purchase the Toys for Tots gifts. Each group had a budget of $270 and all together they spent $812.53. On Wednesday, December 14 students walked to the Kenilworth Fire Department with the bags of toys and donated over 100 toys to the program. Through this experience, the children at St. Theresa School learned to give back to the community and cherish what you have and also budgeting.
