Scotch Plains ResidentSophia Cope Competes for Junior Olympics
Sophia Cope, a Scotch Plains resident and recent graduate of Coles Elementary School, recently competed in the AAU Junior Regional Qualifiers for the 2019 Junior Olympics. Cope finished second in the 10 year old girls 200 meter dash with a time of 29.55 and received a silver medal. She placed fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.70. She will compete on July 28, 2019, in her first National competition at the AT&T Aggie Stadium.
