Sock Collection Drive

For their St. Agnes Confirmation Service Project, Mia DiBiasi, Maddie Helm, Lauren Huff and Cristina Porchetta, 8th grade friends, organized a sock collection drive for soldiers and veterans. They wanted to give back to those who give so much for their country and one of the most requested items from deployed service members and veterans in VA hospitals is socks. They partnered with Soldiers’ Angels, which is an organization that does just that with their annual Warm Feet for Warriors sock collection drive. Their goal is to collect 75,000 pairs of socks through this annual drive.

The girls made posters and placed collection bins at the Clark Recreation Center and the Clark American Legion Post #328. There was also an Amazon shopping link on social media so people who wanted to donate socks could easily do so. Through their efforts and those who graciously donated socks, they collected about 75 packages of socks. In addition, Clark American Legion Post #328 generously donated $500 to the sock collection drive, which they greatly appreciated!
