Soaring into Summer Concert
Safe+Sound Somerset will be hosting its first Soaring into Summer Concert to support Somerset County survivors of domestic violence and their children and adult and child survivors of sexual violence. Todd Carey, known for his trademark brand of Beach-Pop-Rock, will be performing.
The Soaring into Summer Concert will take place on Sunday, June 11th, from 2-5 p.m., at Burnt Mills Cider Co. in Bedminster, NJ. In addition to music by Todd and his band, the afternoon’s festivities will include hard cider from Burnt Mills Cider Co., food from BEX Catering, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and other activities for the family. Todd Carey, whose 14-year career has spanned Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and now Charleston, has dedicated his life to music. You may have seen him perform alongside John Mayer, Train, or The 1975, and more recently heard his singles with Sara Bareilles, Jake Miller, & Shwazye. Carey recently headlined a series of City Winery venues in the Northeast on his Rowed To The Boat Tour, leading up to his performance on Train’s 2023 Sail Across The Sun cruise.
Proceeds from Soaring into Summer will benefit Somerset County survivors of domestic violence and their children, as well as adult and child survivors of sexual violence.
The statistics are concerning 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men experiencing some form of domestic violence from an intimate partner within their lifetime. 1 in 4 homeless women identify domestic violence as one of the main reasons they are homeless. Even more troubling, 1 in 3 teens will experience dating violence before high school graduation, and 1 in 15 children witness intimate partner violence each year.
