Summit Downtown, Inc. (SDI) is announcing the start of the Summit Summer Farmers Market and the GIFT (Give It Fresh Today) program on April 22, 2018. The market will be open every Sunday until November 18 and the selling hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The GIFT program will start its seventh season. This contribution initiative brings in hundreds of pounds of fresh produce through the generosity of the community, Summit Downtown, Inc., and the many Farmers Market vendors. Our partner organizations, all based in Summit, are GRACE, SHIP, and St. Teresa’s Loaves and Fishes, and they are able to distribute healthy, locally grown food to people who may not have access to it.
We are now looking for volunteers to assist at the Farmers Market on Sundays from April 22 to November 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering for any Sunday, please contact Amanda Block, GRACE apb_nyc@hotmail.com; Gery McKenna, Loaves and Fishes gsmrun86@aol.om; or Marin Mixon, Summit Farmers Market marin@summitdowntown.org.
Summit Downtown, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the on-going development and promotion of the business community of downtown Summit, NJ.
