Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Competes in FBLA State Conference in Atlantic City
Eighteen Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School students and members of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) organization attended the FBLA State Conference in Atlantic City on March 20, 2019, competing amongst other schools in the State of New Jersey. These students were: Sandra Abdelmalak, Nicole Alvarez, Alexa Anselmo, Marin Brace, Ava Buttigheri, Charles Coolidge, John Dazzo, Ryan Eng, Conor Feeney, Alexa Gingold, Zach Jachera, Suzanne Jackson, Michael Marino, James Middleton, Shannon Persuad, Cheryl Schneider, Rohan Shah and Jamie Weinberg.
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School chapter took home the following awards: Chapter Website Award of Merit, Gold Chapter Member, Gold Chapter Officer, Outstanding Local Chapter, and Scrapbook. Six of our members took home individual/team awards for their presentations and projects. Those students were:
5th place: Nicole Alvarez for American Enterprise Project (a report and presentation event)
2nd place: Cheryl Schenider for Agribusiness (an objective test event)
1st place: Charles Coolidge for Intro to Public Speaking (a speech event) and
1st place: Jamie Weinberg, Alexa Gingold, and Marin Brace for Intro to Business Presentation (a presentation event).
The following students are eligible for the National Conference this year in Texas: Cheryl Schneider, Charles Coolidge, Jamie Weinberg, Alexa Gingold, and Marin Brace.
