(above) To demonstrate how carbon dioxide gas in soda can cause a volcanic eruption when mixed with Mentos candy Mrs. Serrano and Mrs. Aronowitz’s 8th grade class from St.Theresa School in Kenilworth did an outside experiment with just that. The students had to receive 2 out of 4 extra credit points by researching and writing a paragraph about the scientific question they would like to find answers for in the soda -Mentos explosion.
