Kindergarten students at School #2 in Mrs. Colacitti, Ms. Castanheira and Mrs. Mercedes Fernandez’s class united together to discuss diversity and take pride of their culture on February 17th. The children enjoyed listening to stories about different cultures and customs around the world and compared differences and similarities. Their classroom’s bulletin board, “Diversity is the only thing we have in common,” is composed of quotes directly from each student stating what they know about their culture! Students shared details of their heritage in English and in Spanish as part of their Social Studies diversity lesson.
