Scholarships Available for HS Seniors
Lions Club of New Providence
It is with great pleasure that the Lions Club of New Providence announces that it will again be offering college scholarships to New Providence High School students this year. There will be scholarships awarded to three deserving seniors in the amount of $2,000 each. All students receiving a New Providence High School Diploma in June of 2022 are eligible. This includes all students attending the High School in New Providence, the Union County Magnate or Vocational Schools, and all students attending a special education school as long as their diploma is from New Providence High School.
The scholarships will be awarded based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service, and financial need. The New Providence Lion’s Scholarship Committee will evaluate all applications timely filed with the High School Guidance Department or sent to the Lions Club of New Providence, at P.O. Box 854, New Providence, NJ 07974.
Applications for these scholarships can be obtained from your NP High School Guidance Counselor. The submission deadline is April 8.
“The Lions Club has been awarding scholarships to deserving NPHS students for over 35 years, and, personally, it’s been an honor to represent the Club in handing them out the last thirteen,” said Chairman Brian Trumbore.
The Lions Club of New Providence is proud to continue to give back to our community. One hundred per cent of all profits raised by the Lions is given back to individuals, community organizations, and local service organizations, including but not limited to the: Senior Center, New Providence Memorial Library, New Providence Emergency Medical Services, New Providence Fire Department, New Providence PBA, SAGE, Brooke Healey Foundation, Paca Club of New Providence, as well as other groups and individuals in need.
