Students Visit Red Brick Schoolhouse
SBS students visited the Red Brick Schoolhouse to learn about the local history of Chatham. Students were excited to learn that George Washington attended school right here in Chatham.Students also recognized familiar places like Noe Pond and Fairmount Country Club and were surprised that the country club used to be a dairy farm. Students participated in an interactive scavenger hunt of the museum displays that are organized by each of Chatham’s original school districts to learn about what it was like to live and go to school from 1860-1928 when the Southern Boulevard School was built.
