Spotting the Warning Signs of an Abusive Relationship
Wed. July 29th at 7 PM
Times of stress and anxiety can strain any relationship, but when does something cross the line from normal ups and downs to unhealthy, or even abusive, dynamics? During this interactive presentation, we’ll introduce the characteristics of healthy relationships, as well as the most common “red flags” of domestic abuse. We’ll examine real-life examples of the excuses for abusive behavior and conclude with a discussion about how to get help and support a friend struggling with an abusive relationship.
Presenters:
Joelle Piercy, LSW, MSS, MLSP, SPEAK Community Outreach Coordinator, and Jessica Skultety, SPEAK Community Outreach Associate
