Submitted by Bob Zeglarski
Rotary Roselle-Roselle Park announced Students of the Month: Carolina Pereira of Roselle Park High School, Nicole Terry of Roselle Catholic High School and Lincoln Contreras of Abraham Clark High School were honored as Rotary’s Students of the Month Ceremony during a recent meeting of the club.
Rotarian Sarah Costa coordinates the program with assistance from Rotarian Courtney Washington. Students are honored monthly with a plaque, a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble, and an opportunity to address the club in the presence of their guidance counselors, parents, special guests, and club members. Everyone also enjoys the best breakfast in Rotary by Rotarian Julie Pinho.
The guest speaker was Barbara Koppel of Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, who serves the families of pediatric cancer patients. Ms. Koppel, Regional Director for the Foundation, expressed to the students just how thankful the parents that the Foundation served were thankful for the services they received, especially the donation of food, during the height of the pandemic.
