Boy Scout Troop 56’s annual Pintwood Derby fundraiser for took place on Saturday, June 8th at the West End Community Center, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of participants and spectators. This beloved annual event brought together families, scouts, and racing enthusiasts for a day filled with excitement, competition, and camaraderie.

The event kicked off at noon, with participants showcasing their meticulously crafted wooden cars. Each car, designed and built by the participants, reflected hours of dedication and creativity. The races were organized into multiple heats, ensuring everyone had a fair chance to compete.

Several participants stood out with their unique car designs and impressive racing skills. The top honors of the day went to:

  • First Place: Tom Norman with his car “Spruce Deuce”
  • Second Place: Dennis Salmanowicz with his car “Racing Rabbi”
  • Third Place: Lisa Coppola with her car “Gucci”

The Pintwood Derby wasn’t just about the races; it was also a community-building event. The West End Community Center contributed free barbecue and refreshments, which added to the festive atmosphere.

This year’s Pintwood Derby was a resounding success, showcasing the talents and sportsmanship of all participants.
