ROMEO AND JULIET: PERFORMANCE AND BOOK CLUB AT THE KENILWORTH PUBLIC LIBRARY

Kenilworth’s beloved Shakespeare series Bard on the Boulevard is back, and the Kenilworth Public Library Book Club is participating with a very special event! On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, all are welcome to join us at the library (located at 548 Boulevard) for two back-to-back programs. First, at 6:00 pm, our Book Club will discuss Juliet’s Nurse by Lois Leveen. Immediately afterwards at 7:00 pm, the library will host the Hudson Shakespeare Company for a performance of Romeo and Juliet. As in previous years, this program has been made possible with the support of the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs.
Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare’s timeless tale of star-crossed lovers, will be directed by Noelle Fair and performed by the Hudson Shakespeare Company’s talented cast. The Hudson Shakespeare Company has been involved in productions both classic and modern since 1992. Their skilled players and directors combine the comic and tragic to produce unforgettable performances.
Juliet’s Nurse is the same “tale of woe”, told through the eyes of Juliet’s faithful confidant by bestselling author Lois Leveen. Multiple copies of the book are available at the library’s front desk. The Book Club, which has been in existence for 15 years and has discussed over 100 books, is open to everyone. Their eclectic range includes fiction, nonfiction, popular authors and hidden gems.
