Resolving Some Issues

Resolve Community Counseling Center (Resolve) hosted a dinner last month at Giovanna’s Restaurant in Plainfield to honor the Westfield Y’s Men’s Club as a “Friend of Resolve”. Here Michael Walch, 2nd from the left, President of the Resolve Board of Directors, presents the plaque to representatives from the Westfield Y’s Men’s Club including Joseph Carroll, Dominic DiGiorgio, William West, and Stephen Suriano.
Resolve has been helping families in Scotch Plains-Fanwood and surrounding towns since 1974. It is a private non-profit mental health agency dedicated to providing quality and affordable counseling, advocacy, and educational programs for children, adolescents and adults, individuals and families. Resolve clients are from all walks of life and often they do not have enough money or insurance to pay for the hourly services that they need. However, Resolve tries to help everyone regardless of the financial situation. In order to serve all their clients the organization relies on grants and donations from individuals and organizations, like the Westfield Y’s Men’s Club. For over 60 years, the mission of the Westfield  Y’s Men’s Club is to function as a service organization and raise money for charitable causes. Selling Christmas trees has been their primary fundraising method, and they have raised over $2,000,000 that directly supports the community, including Resolve.
