Rescue Squad Installation and Awards Dinner

On January 13th, the Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad held our annual Installation and Awards Dinner. The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) was established in 1942.
In 2016, the BHVRS responded to 836 calls in total. The BHVRS is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by volunteers who live and work in the township. On every shift there are two members who hold a valid New Jersey EMT Certification, which requires a class of 180 hours to obtain. Whether you call the Rescue Squad for an adult or child, illness or injury, you can be sure that you are getting at least two experienced medical professionals to take care of you or your loved ones.
To achieve our objectives, the BHVRS works closely with the Berkeley Heights Police Department, the Berkeley Heights Fire Department, and rescue squads from surrounding towns. The BHVRS provides mutual aid to New Providence and to Long Hill Township on a regular basis and to other surrounding towns when needed.
The Squad always needs volunteers, both medical and auxiliary. If you are interested in joining or would like additional information, please visit www.bhvrs.org, or call (908) 464-0013.
