In honor of Women’s History Month, The League of Women Voters of Berkeley Heights, New Providence, and Summit will present Ruth Ann Koenick, who will be speaking about “#MeToo, Violence Against Women, History and Hope.”
The program will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at the DeCorso Community Center, 15 E. 4th St. in New Providence. The program is free and open to the public. There will be a Q&A following the presentation.
Ms. Koenick was the director of the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She worked in the field of violence against women for 45 years. Ms. Koenick is an author, speaker and mentor.
The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization that works to increase understanding of major policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League of Women Voters of New Jersey has a state sub-committee on Women and Family Issues which has taken up the task of studying campus sexual assault and looking for ways to prevent assaults and protect the victims.
