Police Chief Vincent Chirico Passes
It is with extreme regret that we announce the passing of retired Madison Police Chief Vincent “Vinny” D. Chirico after a courageous battle against COVID-19.
Chief Chirico was appointed to the Madison Police Department on November 10, 1969, and served as chief from 2004 to 2009, where he retired after 39 years of relentless service. Vinny was also a former member of the Madison Fire Department, where he formerly served as President of the Madison Hose Company.
In addition to being dedicated to our community, he was mostly a dedicated husband and father to his daughter Betty-Lou. Vinny fought the impossible fight having been battling COVID-19 since early April. His true spirit showed on how he refused to quit. Our condolences are sent to the entire Chirico family during this difficult time.
