School One, Scotch Plains, New Jersey, recently hosted the Paws and Claws for a Cause Art Show and Benefit. This event, hosted by Jessica Cavaliere’s and Brian Rosenberger’s fouth grade artists, gave School One and its community an opportunity to join in on a service project to support the Plainfield Area Humane Society (P.A.H.S).
The event, which was held during School One’s Parent Visitation, included an art show which displayed amazing art work created by Grade K to 4. The fourth-grade students created “bobble head” dogs, cats and other animals made of ceramic. Many were painted to mimic the dogs and cats currently at the shelter.
Mrs. Sue MacWhitney-Toufo, Director of the Plainfield Area Humane Society, was in attendance and shared information about animal adoption, fostering, and pet care. To support the shelter, a pet food/supply drive was also held with all donations going to the Plainfield Area Humane Society. The event was a huge success.
