On Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. the Township of Scotch Plains will host the 3rd annual Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer. The course takes participants through the downtown business district and residential neighborhoods promising spectator support all along the route. Following the race, on the Alan Augustine Green, enjoy live entertainment, by the Neighbors, BBQ from the Stage House Tavern, a cold beer from the beer truck and sponsor tables. Each registered runner will receive a ticket for BBQ and runners 21 and older will get a voucher for a free beer. There is a Kids’ Fun Run & Kids’ One Mile Run at 7 p.m.
The race is held in memory of Patrick J. Allocca, a Scotch Plains resident. Proceeds from the event, in Patrick’s name, will go to support improvements in the downtown Scotch Plains business district and local charities.
