Former Councilman Dan Levine and longtime Historic Preservation Commission member Joan Skubish were honored at Tuesday night’s borough council meeting.
Levine, who stepped down at the end of 2015 after completing a three-year term, received a framed borough seal and the thanks of Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Council.
The Mayor and Council also honored Skubish as the borough’s volunteer of the month for her work on the Historic Preservation Commission and also for her creation and stewardship of the continuing program to involve and educate local school kids in the borough’s history by conducting a series of visits to the Fanwood Museum.
Mahr presented Skubish with a framed print of Fanwood’s historic train station, where the museum is located.
The meeting also was the first for new Councilwoman Erin McElroy Barker, who takes the place of Levine.
