On October 18, 2015 the Stirling Elks Lodge 2392 hosted a picnic for the Our House Residents living in local group homes and apartments. It was a sunny day and everyone enjoyed lots of goodfood, beautiful weather, music and dancing (pictures attached). The residents enjoyed visits from the Stirling and Millington Fire Companies and the Long Hill Township First Aid Squad.
The Stirling Elks Lodge is made up of men and women from Long Hill Township,Berkeley Heights and other surrounding towns who are citizens of the United States, at least 21 years old and who believe in God. Through Elks programs they benefit special needs children, scholarships, scouting, athletic teams,Veterans, youth activities and patriotic programs.
The Special Children’s Committee sponsors several functions a year for special children and adults. The Stirling Elks hosts an annual picnic for Our House Residents and staff in Oct. They sponsor various events for the residents of Our House. Our House has group homes throughout Union, Essex, Somerset and Morris counties.
In October the lodge hosts a Children’s Halloween party for special needs childrenand children of lodge members and friends.
In December the Elks hosts an annual Holiday party for special needs children and children of lodge members and friends.
During the summer the Stirling Elks sends special needs campers to Camp Moore (New Jersey Elks State Project) at no cost to their families.
