North Plainfield High School’s Spring Musical is “Legally Blonde.” Based on the movie of the same name, which starred Reese Witherspoon, the play tells the story of Elle Woods, a California sorority girl, and her transformation as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. As the play opens, Elle appears to have it all, but her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with her peers, professors, and her ex. With the support of some new friends, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
The stars of this year’s show are Jasmine Lattimore as Elle Wood; Jackson Coslit as her soon to be ex-boyfriend Warner; Nabil Twyman plays the tough Harvard teacher, Professor Callahan; Grace McGrath plays the zany but warm-hearted Paulette; and introducing Nico Pucciarelli as Emmett, the assistant professor and Elle’s new friend and potential love interest.
The musical runs March 22 to 24th, 2018 in the NPHS auditorium at 34 Wilson Ave, North Plainfield, NJ 07060. Ticket prices are $8 students/seniors and $10 general admission.
