North Plainfield Summer Camp 2020
The Department of Parks and Recreation announces the following:
Unfortunately we will not be offering a summer playground at Green Acres this year.
Our summer camp program at Vermeule will be run much differently than the past. Please be mindful that we will be in compliance with CDC and state regulations. Hopefully after reading this announcement you will be better informed to make your decision as to whether you want to send your child or keep him/her home this summer.
• Camp will begin Monday July 13th
• We are capping off registration at 66 campers. Registration will be first come, first served. North Plainfield residents will be a priority. All out of town residents will be placed on a waiting list and there will be a $100 surcharge added to your plan if space becomes available.
• July 10th is our cutoff date. We will go to the waiting list at that time. If you are on our waiting list and are still interested in attending, your camper will become registered.
• Our campers will be assigned to a group of 6 campers and 1 counselor. They will remain together as much as possible throughout the day and summer. By keeping the children in the same group, we can easily track the children and counselor assigned to that group should a camper or counselor become ill.
• There will be no trips
• There will not be any on campus outside entertainment.
• Campers will receive 1 T-shirt
Parents will be responsible for supplying water, snacks and lunch. We will still offer pizza Fridays. We ask that you educate your children to NOT share drinks, snacks or lunch. We also ask you emphasize social distancing and wearing masks when asked to do so.
• This summer there will be no minimum number of weeks to enroll as we realize some of you may not need our services fulltime. We understand unemployment is high and our goal is to assist families as much as possible for this summer. As much as we are interested in helping families, we still have a structure that must be adhered to.
• The summer camp program will be open for 8 weeks (From July 13 and closing Friday September 4th) Since there is no minimum number of weeks this year, (it was always 7 weeks minimum in the past) you may purchase the number of weeks needed for your family.
• Our Plans are remaining the same (A,B,C,D) however we are modifying our plans to possibly meet your needs. We are offering a 5 day week plan and a 3 day week plan. If you purchase a 3 day plan, the same 3 days must be used each week. You may NOT change your 3 days from week to week. We need uniformity for staffing purposes.
• All pricing is being kept at the early bird pricing. There will be no late fees for registration
• If you purchase 5 weeks and later realize you need additional weeks, you may purchase additional weeks if space is available.
• Plan A is 9am drop off 3pm pick up.
• Plan B is 7:30am drop off and 6:30pm pick up.
• Plan C is 7:30am drop off 3pm pick up
• Plan D is 9:00am drop off 6:30pm pick up
CAMPERS MUST BE PICKED BY 3PM OR 6:30 PM. (TIME IS BASED ON YOUR PURCHASE) THERE WILL BE A $15 LATE FEE PENALTY FOR CAMPERS PICKED UP 1-15 MIUNTES LATE, $30 FOR CAMPERS PICKED UP 16 – 30 MINUTES LATE.
The plans below are for children up to and going into the 6th grade.
Plan A for 5 days is $95 per week
Plan A for 3 days is $60 per week
Plan B for 5 days is $165 per week
Plan B for 3 days is $100 per week
Plan C for 5 days is $120 per week
Plan C for 3 days is $75 per week
Plan D for 5 days is $155 per week
Plan D for 3 days is $95 per week
Plans for Middle School Children going into the 7th and 8th grades. If a child is going into the 9th grade, he/she has aged out of the program.
Plan A for 5 days is $60 per week
Plan A for 3 days is $40 per week
Plan B for 5 days is $110 per week
Plan B for 3 days is $70 per week
Plan C for 5 days is $75 per week
Plan C for 3 days is $50 per week
Plan D for 5 days is $95 per week
Plan D for 3 days is $60 per week
ALL PLANS MUST BE SELECTED AND PAID IN FULL, AND IN ADVANCE BY JULY 6TH. WE ARE SORRY WE CANNOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS.
