No Smoking Signs Installed in all Municipal Parks and Athletic Facilities
SUMMIT, NJ, March 14, 2019 –In response to the New Jersey Smoke-Free Air Act N.J.S.A. 26:3D-55 that took effect on January 16, 2019, the City of Summit has installed no smoking signs in all municipally-owned parks and athletic facilities, including Soldiers Memorial Field, Investors Bank Field, Wilson Park, Long Field, Glenside Field, Mabie Memorial Playground, and the Summit Village Green. The smoking ban will be enforced by the Summit Police Department. Fines are $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second offense, and $1000 for all further violations.
