Nine Westfield High School fencers competed in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) fencing qualifier tournament, in all three weapons categories: saber, foil, and epee. This is the first time in several years that Westfield was represented at a NJSIAA fencing event. Nicco Chin, who fences saber, qualified for the March 5th Championship Tournament. The WHS Fencing Club has over 20 members, who practice at the Advance Fencing and Fitness Academy in Garwood, with coaches Jerome Guth and Janusz Mlynek.
