Due to major disruptions on key roads in Stirling due to new water mains being installed the firefighter’s race will be postponed until next year in July.
The funds raised at the annual NJ Firefighter’s Bicycle Race, where firefighter’s race in their full firefighting gear, are donated to the St. Barnabas Hospital Burn Center Foundation, which is New Jersey’s only certified burn center. The members of the Stirling Volunteer Fire Co. respectfully ask readers to send a donation of $10 or more to them to replace the funds that would have been raised at the bike race. Your donations will be sent on behalf of all NJ firefighters, volunteer and paid, to the Burn Center. (Donations are tax deductible.)
Please spend your donation, payable to the Stirling Vol. Fire Co. – Bike Race Committee at P O Box 123, Stirling NJ 07980. Next year’s race will be held on the 4th Sunday in July in Stirling on all newly paved roads.
