New Providence Summer Concert Series hosts “Kinderhook”, July 25th, 2019
The New Providence Summer Concert Series hosted ‘Kinderhook’ on July 25th, 2019 at Centennial Park. The event, which was hosted by New Providence Business, had a great turnout on a beautiful summer evening. Kinderhook played a number of Southern style songs and had a number of people out of their seats and dancing. Families and friends enjoying the show were also provided hot dogs from the Lions Club, and ice cream from Zita’s; a face painting station was also provided for the children. A special guest appearance was also made by Santa Claus, who had candy canes for the kids in attendance to celebrate, “Christmas in July”. A fun time was had by all.
About Kinderhook
Kinderhook began in the early 1970’s as an acoustic trio comprised of students who met at Rutgers University and quickly evolved into a six-piece high energy country rock act. Seemingly overnight, the band went from playing for drinks and tips at a local college taco joint to sharing the stage with Poco before an enthusiastic crowd of 25,000 at the Schaeffer Music Festival in New York’s Central Park. The group has been together ever since, and became a featured band at the 2019 Summer Concert Series.
