Season Opens Jan. 14th with Jay Daniels
The New Providence Friends of the Library open their 2024 season on January 14th with a performance by an uplifting pianist and vocalist, Jay Daniels. He will offer a retrospective of one of the most momentous years in history – 1964. From the beginnings of the British Invasion with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones to the explosion of Motown, this was truly a groundbreaking year for music. Jay will also highlight two popular albums from that year, “It Might as Well Be Swing” featuring Frank Sinatra & Count Basie and one that heralded the arrival of the Bossa Nova, “Getz-Gilberto” with Stan Getz and João Gilberto. Join us on Sunday, January 14th from 3-4 p.m.
