NAVY JROTC Teams Attend Competition

The Linden High School Navy JROTC Drill & Physical fitness teams attended the 17th Annual Passaic Drill and Athletic Competition in Passaic, New Jersey on February 27, 2016. Teams from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania representing all four of the armed services JROTC programs competed. Linden had a tremendous showing in this year’s competition, with the Varsity team capturing 1st place trophies in five events, including Armed drill, Armed exhibition, Unarmed exhibition, Team inspection, and Armed duel exhibition. Additionally, the Physical fitness team placed 3rd in a demanding test of both physical fitness and teamwork. This awesome display of precision, hard work, and teamwork earned them an impressive 2nd place overall finish out of 14 teams that competed. Meanwhile, the New cadet team which is composed of cadets in their 1st year of JROTC were able to take home a 1st place trophy in the  New cadet color guard event. The team’s coaches MSgt Kozlowski & MSgt Gombocz expect the team to continue their strong performances as they come to the end of a long drill season, and thank all team members for their commitment and hard work throughout the year.
