On August 2, New Providence held their National Night out event. On a warm summer day, New Providence residents gathered to celebrate and unify the community through these troubling times. National night out was first held in 1983 and 33 years later the event has been carrying on strong. Celebrated in all 50 states, Canada, and military bases around the world, this event shines a light on the determination by law enforcement and the community to work in a cohesive manner to help keep their neighborhoods safe.
The job of police officers often entails more than just catching criminals and with such a difficult profession, having the community by your side relieves some stress.
