Myra Schurer died peacefully in her sleep on December 1, 2016, surrounded by love. Born September 23, 1928 to Viola and Herman Lowenstein, Myra lived a long and full life. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, artist, speech pathologist, bookkeeper, Girl Scout leader, gardener, community volunteer, actress, world traveler, theater goer, fashion designer, writer, food lover, and good cook!
She was raised in Weehawken, New Jersey, spent most of her adult life in Cranford, NJ, and moved to Harbourfront in Toronto, Canada to be near her grandchildren. She later settled at Wynmoor, Coconut Creek, Florida, and her final residence was at Peregrine’s Landing in Atlanta, Georgia to be near her son.
She is mourned by her loving children Sandy, Marcia, and David; her son-in-law Phil; daughter-in-law Donna; grandchildren Jared, Rachel, and Shawn; great-grandchildren Santiago and Juliana; brother Bob; and many nieces and nephews. She lived a good life and we all should be that lucky.
