MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND SUPPLIES SOUGHT

My name is Joe Ensslin, and I am a life scout in Troop 77 in Westfield. I have been a scout since elementary school, and now, as a high school junior, I am starting my Eagle Scout Service Project. I am working with Bernice’s Place in Elizabeth to create a music program for children. Bernice’s Place is part of the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, and they provide an after school and summer program for underprivileged kids where they can play games and do homework. My project would give them the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument and make music, a chance that they might otherwise have never gotten. For me, playing an instrument has been such an important part of my life, and I want to offer these children a similar opportunity.
If you or one of your kids played an instrument and stopped, or you just have an instrument lying around, please consider donating it to my project. I am seeking clarinets, trumpets, flutes, and saxophones. If you only rented an instrument, but still have supplies such as reeds, valve oil, music stands, or Essential Elements lesson books, I am collecting those as well. I will provide a written letter detailing the value of anything donated, and you will be able to deduct your donations from your taxes. Anything donated will be going towards a great cause.
If you have any questions, or would like to make a donation, please email me at jensslin@verizon.net. Thank you for your support, Joe Ensslin
