Arbor Day Poetry Contest Winners
Berkeley Heights Public Schools
Students from Mountain Park Elementary School participated in the 2023 Union County Arbor Day Poetry Contest. One poem was selected from each class and submitted into the countywide competition. Amaya Gonzalez, a fourth-grade student at Mountain Park School in Mrs. Corcoran’s class received second place honors with her poem titled A Swaying Beauty. Julia Ruiz from Mrs. Saravay’s and Mrs. Gillespie’s class received third place in fifth grade with her poem entitled Trees, and Anna Morozovych from Mrs. Burga’s class received first place for fifth grade with her poem entitled Trees Are Everything. Students were recognized and received their award at a Board of Commissioners meeting in Elizabeth on Thursday, April 27th.
