Mobile Meals of Westfield receives community support

(above) Westfield Service League Co-Presidents Susan McClelland & Rosann LiVolsi presented a $2,000 check to Josephine Walsh (center) of Mobile Meals of Westfield.  Westfield WSL members volunteer in the organization’s Thrift and Consignment Shop to earn yearly profits to make community contributions for deserving recipients. Mobile Meals of Westfield receives donations

In the month of July, Mobile Meals of Westfield received two large donations from the Westfield United Fund ($25,000), and the Westfield Service League ($2,000).

Since 1968, Mobile Meals of Westfield has provided affordable and nutritious prepared hot meals to individuals unable to shop and/or provide meals for themselves. Last year, they delivered a total of 15,940 meals to 116 clients. The meals are subsidized to clients through generous donations from individuals, companies, and organizations. The Westfield United Fund continues their 85-year tradition of supporting deserving organizations who meet the WUF’s mission. The fund helps seniors and other homebound residents who need meals delivered, low-income families needing child care, teens needing crisis counseling, domestic abuse victims needing shelter/counseling, children in foster care needing advocates, foreign-born residents needing to learn English and people of all ages needing mental health services.
