Millburn High School Presents Winter Chorus and Orchestra Concert
The Music Department of Millburn High School proudly presents its annual Winter Chorus and Orchestra Concert on Thursday, December 14 at 7:30 P.M. in the high school auditorium. This concert is free and open to the public. Ensembles are under the direction of Mr. Rodrigo Vega, Director of Choirs, and Ms. Flora Yousefi, Director of Orchestras.
Chamber Strings will perform Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 4, I Crisantemi by Puccini, as well as the famous, foot stompin’ Hoe Down from “Rodeo” by Copeland. Chorale will present Lineage by Andrea Ramsey, Sih’r Khalaq by Jim Popoulis, and an arrangement of Crowded Table by Brandi Carlile.
The Symphonic Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Strauss’ Emperor Waltz, and from Bizet’s Suite No. 1, Les Toréadors. Cantica Nova will perform pieces by Dan Davidson, Andrew Miller, and an arrangement of the spiritual Keep your Lamps Trimmed and Burnin’.
Gentlemen from the choir will perform an arrangement of The Longest Time by Billy Joel. Miller Chorus will perform pieces by the Canadian indie band Royal Canoe and Bruckner, as well as Whitacre’s The Seal Lullaby and an arrangement of the spiritual Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit. The concert will conclude with a combined Chorus and Orchestra performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria.
