ROCKTOBERFEST 2024 IS IN THE BOOKS

Millburn Rocktoberfest 2024

The Millburn Education Foundation (MEF) proudly announces another successful completion of Millburn’s most prized community tradition: Rocktoberfest. This year’s Rocktoberfest took place on September 14 from 12 – 10 p.m. at Taylor Park. All proceeds from the day’s event benefit the Millburn Education Foundation (MEF), which supports Millburn Township schools, teachers and students by funding grants that support important projects around the district.

Featuring over thirty music bands and solo artists, this year’s Rocktoberfest had multiple stages: a Bauer Center Stage, a Riverside Stage, and a Low Sensory Stage. Attendees were also invited to Boxcar Bar & Grill from 11:30 a.m. through the evening to start their day with brunch and enjoy live music. After the main event at Taylor Park, attendees headed back to Boxcar for an after-party with live music from Bonzi Beach Band until midnight.

According to the estimates of the Millburn Fire Department (one of the many Township departments without whom the execution of Rocktoberfest 2024 would have been an impossible feat), the event saw a continuous crowd of upwards of 5,000 thousand attendees who packed Taylor Park, shopping, dining, and rocking out to the music throughout the day. This impressive statistic highlights the level of unity that our town is capable of achieving.

“We are once again humbled by the response of our fellow Millburn and Short Hills residents to Rocktoberfest,” says event co-founder Joanna Parker-Lentz. According to Rocktoberfest co-founder Micole Cohen Richter, “we put out the call for volunteers, teen interns, sponsors, and vendors, and our community sprung into action, supporting our mission to raise money for our public schools and to put the fun in fundraiser!”

Whiskey & Sugar, one of the bands that performed at Rocktoberfest’s main stage, was highly satisfied with the Rocktoberfest experience. “We’re grateful to the Millburn Education Foundation for the chance to kick off the main stage at Rocktoberfest, celebrating local arts and culture while supporting innovation in our public schools. We had a blast participating. Whiskey & Sugar was born at Rocktoberfest just last year, so it was the perfect place to mark our 1-year anniversary with great tunes for an even greater audience,” says a spokesperson for Whiskey & Sugar.

The Rocktoberfest Committee extends a warm gratitude to its presenting sponsors: Elvis Sponsors, Stella Artois and Racquets Club Short Hills; Prince Sponsors, Boxcar Bar & Grill, Coldwell Banker Realty, Garden State Dental Design, Jesse Liu Memorial 5k to End Pancreatic Cancer, the Jodi and Joanna Group, LuxeLife Group, Millburn Short Hills Chinese Association (MSHCA), Millburn Standard, the Paige Company, Paper Mill Playhouse, Sacks Orthodontics, and Stone Mountain Properties. Rocktoberfest 2024 would not be possible without the generous support of these sponsors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the enthusiastic participation of the Millburn-Short Hills community.

A final message from Parker-Lentz and Cohen Richter: Mark your calendars for next year’s Rocktoberfest celebration: September 13, 2025! We hope to see you there! If you would like to join the Rocktoberfest planning committee, please email rock@millburnedfoundation.org.
