EXCEL 101: THE BASICS
Wednesday, March 16, 2:30-4:00 p.m., Online
Interested in Excel or need spreadsheet skills for a job? Learn the basics of navigating spreadsheets, organizing data, using functions, and other useful tools. In the class we’ll create a budget spreadsheet. No prior Excel experience needed, but should have basic computer skills. The class will use Web Excel, via a free Microsoft OneDrive account. EXCEL 102: INTERMEDIATE SKILLS
Wednesday, March 23, 2:30-4:00 p.m., Online
In this class we’ll practice preparing and analyzing sample data using functions. The class will focus on more intermediate-level functions, such as VLOOKUP and conditional functions, like SUMIF. Prerequisite: Excel basics. Must have a free Microsoft OneDrive account in order to follow along in Web Excel. Virtual Program.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS:
BEGINNERS CLASS

Practice speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar while talking about interesting topics. Short related reading and writing assignments may be given as homework. Book: Kent State by Derf Backderf
Facilitator: Insha Fitzpatrick
In his visually powerful Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio, critically acclaimed graphic novelist Derf Backderf reconstructs the lives and last days of the student activists and bystanders killed when the National Guard fired on unarmed antiwar protesters on the campus of Kent State University. Graphic novelist and Millburn Librarian Insha Fitzpatrick will moderate the discussion of Backderf’s nuanced portrait of the young National Guardsmen and insightful examination of the polarized political context surrounding the anti-war movement.

WOMEN SCULPTORS OF NEW YORK CITY with Sylvia Laudien Meo

Up until August 2020 NYC had only five Public Art works that represent historic women, but there is a huge number of sculptures which were created by female artists, starting with Emma Stebbins’ Angel of the Waters in Central Park. This program will introduce some of these artists: Anne Huntington, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, and Marisol and Louise Nevelson. Virtual Program.

In-person event for children up to age 5 with caregivers. Stay and Play is a free-play program with an emphasis on STEM and developmental play skills. The program will be held at our temporary location at 253 Millburn Avenue. Registration required for each child. Masks required for ages 2+.
