Millburn Library Events June 2024

The library is pleased to present its June lineup. Programs are free and open to all residents. Register at millburnlibrary.org/events. All in person programs will take place at the library building at 200 Glen Ave. Registrants will receive a Zoom link for online and hybrid programs. 

Programs for adults:

Author Visit: Kate Storey on the Kennedys and Cape Cod

Thursday June 6, 7-8pm, Auditorium

Local author Kate Storey will discuss the newly released paperback edition of her book, White House by the Sea: A Century of the Kennedys at Hyannis Port. Copies will be available for purchase and signing.

Celebrating Pride Month: Closets in the Spotlight with John Kenrick

Thursday June 13, 7-8pm, Hybrid, Auditorium

How did twentieth century songwriters Lorenz Hart, Cole Porter and Noel Coward live forbidden gay lives?

Flavian the Mentalist

Flavian will read your mind and make you laugh as he reveals answers to some very funny questions!

Dream Interpretation with RoseMarie Cappiello

Tuesday June 25, 7-8pm, Auditorium

Ever wake from a nightmare in total fear? Do you remember your dreams? Learn to develop awareness of your dream state and use it to enhance your life. Presented by RoseMarie Cappiello, author and spiritual teacher.

Pokemon Club!

Wednesday June 5, 4-5pm, Auditorium for ages 4 – 12

Calling all pokemon fans: Pokemon Club is back! Trade cards, color, craft and puzzle with Librarian Miss Sue and Millburn’s own resident Pokemon expert Devon Hampton. Registration is required. 

Stay & Play: Baby Hangout

Wednesday June 12, 10:30-11:30am, Auditorium

This new Stay & Play program is designed for parents and caregivers with babies 15 months and under. Baby toys and books will be provided by the library. Come, play and socialize! Drop in. 

Crafternoon

Wednesday June 26, 4-5pm, Auditorium for ages 4-12

What does crafts + afternoon equal? Why, crafternoon of course! Kids are invited to make a fun seasonal craft. Drop in.

Pride Celebration!

Saturday June 8, 2-4pm, Auditorium

The library’s second annual Pride Celebration will feature live entertainment, food, meaningful connections, and more! A lively celebration to empower LGBTQ+ teens and allies. Presented in partnership with local and regional outreach organizations and local businesses.

Food Adventures with Janis: Mochi Doughnuts

Friday, June 14, 3:30-4:30pm, Room B

Hang with Teen Librarian Janis and help make (yes, you’re helping!) mochi doughnuts, a delicious fusion pastry crossing American-style doughnuts and Japanese mochi. Registration is required.

D&D Club

Monday, June 17, 5-8pm, Teen Space

Play Dungeons & Dragons at the library! A ten-week campaign embarks on June 17. Registration is required.

Library of Things: NEW Summer Collection

The Millburn Free Public Library is pleased to offer its Library of Things collection to Millburn cardholders. The new Summer Collection boasts beach games, portable speakers, snap circuits, and old favorites including hiking gear, bocce ball set, giant Jenga, pickleball set, telescope, and more.
